In the Summer of 1987, “Los Angeles Native” Jo Anne met “Argentine Import” Alejandro while Sales Managing a popular furniture store in Santa Monica, California; Alejandro was Production Manager of a wonderful line of hardwood furniture, of which Jo Anne sold tons at the Santa Monica store. After months of phone contact, the two finally met over the selection of a specifically-grained table top, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Barely a year later, they opened La Paloma Design as a beautiful retail showroom on Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, where they happily sold Custom-Designed Furniture and did Interior Design work for more than 17 years. They were incredibly busy offering Custom Furniture, Custom Lighting, Kitchen & Bath Cabinetry, Custom Upholstery and Window Treatments and all manner of Forged Iron Designs, but they did manage to squeeze in a wedding in 1991.
In May of 2006, Jo Anne & Alejandro moved La Paloma from Beverly Blvd. into their own warehouse/workshop building and created a lovely “Hacienda” showroom, offices and library. The new showroom has a wonderful tall ceiling which nicely showcases their Wrought Iron Chandeliers, Outdoor Lanterns and Interior Lighting.
Expanding their clientele to include Designers, Architects and Builders from both the Residential and Hospitality arenas, they now offer even more custom capabilities. While still offering all of the services listed above, their mostly-rustic lighting line has grown to include to fine brass and leaded glass fixtures and Custom Kitchen Lighting. A current project has them making 20 large custom lanterns for a restaurant in St. Kitts!
